Espreso chief editor says IMI Mediabazas helped staff work during blackouts
The Institute of Mass Information's Mediabazas helped Espreso staff to work during blackouts, said Espreso chief editor Andriy Nesterenko in an interview with the IMI.
“Your project with the Institute of Mass Information Mediabazas in various cities close to the battlefield was very helpful. In Zaporizhzhia, our colleague would go to your office during power outages. So we thank you very much,” the chief editor remarked.
According to him, the power outage was one of the main challenges that their team faced, but the issue has already been resolved.
“Many websites work remotely, using home connection. When the lights go out, they switch on hotspots on their smartphones and connect to mobile Internet from their laptops. Which is a very unstable solution due to the security features of our admin panel. So we purchased special software that resolved the problem,” Andriy Nesterenko said.
He added that many people at Espreso work not from the office, but from different places in Ukraine and even abroad.
“Those who could, changed their Internet provider to one that can provide Internet connection to these homes during blackouts. Those who could, bought batteries for their modems,” he said.
