Employees of "Media Group Ukraine" were not evacuated from business center where a man captured a banking outlet

Employees of the media holding “Media Group Ukraine”, who were in their office in the business center “Leonardo”, were not evacuated when banking outlet in the same busianess center was captured. This was reported by “Detector media”, with a reference to the press service of the media group as a source.

In the business center “Leonardo”, where man captured banking outlet, threatening to set off some explosives, there is one of the studios of TV channel “Ukraine 24” and the editorial office of the magazine Vogue.

The law enforcement officers decided that there was no need to evacuate the editorial office. All employees of the TV channel and of the magazine in the office could leave at any time.

During the police operation, only the journalists and anchors of the TV channel were on the 17th floor  and were doing their news broadcast from the roof of the business center. Yet after the perpetrator was detained, the employees of the media group were given a recommendation to leave the room.

Starting from 17.00, the studio of the TV channel “Ukraine 24” resumed its normal operation.

On August 3, about noon, a man captured banking outlet in the business center «Leonardo» in the center of Kyiv and demanded access to mass media to give an interview. About 14:55, SBU representatives conducted a special operation and detained the man.
