September 20, editorial office meeting of newspaper “Krymska Svitlytsia” will consider termination of the newspaper and closure of the editorial office. This measure is caused by the lack of financing from the state. This situation was described in Facebook entry of the director of Ukrainian enterprise “National newspaper and magazine editorial office” Andriy Shchekun, Krym.Realii reports.
“We were defeated. In the budget of Ukraine for 2018 we failed to see what all our team wanted to see and find there. I am talking about the team of journalists who had to leave the occupied territory and to continue to struggle for the territorial integrity of our country in Kyiv”, the director wrote.
Крим.Реалії намагаються зв'язатися з представниками Міністерства культури України.
Before, on September 7, chief editor of the newspaper “Krymska svitlytsia” Viktor Merzhvynskyi declared that in case the Ukrainian government stops financing them, the administration of the newspaper will be searching for other sources of income.
“Krymska svitlytsia” was published in Crimea since 1992.
