Editor-in-chief of Medzhlis newspaper was summoned to prosecutor’s office to check whether he is extremist

The editor-in-chief of the Crimean Tatar newspaper “Avdet” Shevket Kaibullayev was summoned to the prosecutor’s office in Simferopol. According to “Sobytia Kryma”, in the notice paper the prosecutor’s office informed him that it conducts fact checking in regard of violation of requirements of the Law of the Russian Federation ‘On Counteraction to Extremist Activities’ by the  newspaper “Avdet”’s editors. Kaibullayev believes the conversation in the prosecutor’s office will be about the newspaper’s alleged extremism.

‘Avdet’ is the newspaper of of Medzhlis of Crimean Tatars. It has been published since July 15, 1990.
