Bohdan Flunt and Vitaliy Kostyshyn, who serve in the liaison department of the UAF Mountain Assault Brigade “Edelweiss” No. 10, were wounded in action, the two officers reporterd on Instagram.

Bohdan Fliunt said in his post that this was his first injury since the start of the full-scale invasion. He added that the had written the post seven hours after the event.

“First injury in the course of the full-scale war with the RF. Attaching a photo not to ‘show off’ but to get your attention,” the serviceman wrote.

He stressed that the war “continues here and now,” called on people to support the army and related fundraisers, emphasising that “every contribution to our fight is important.” Fliunt also quoted his doctor as saying that his condition was stable.

Vitaliy Kostyshyn said that he used safety eyewear that protected his eyes from shrapnel in the strike.

“They saved my eyes from shrapnel yesterday, I am very glad about that,” he wrote, thanking people for their support and adding that he was fine.

In a comment to the Institute of Mass Information representative in Odesa oblast, Fliunt said that both he and Kostyshyn had been discharged from the hospital and sent for rehabilitation.

“They’ve pulled out the shrapnel bits. The diagnosis is multiple shrapnel wounds, mostly to our heads. I can not give you details of the strike, but to put it generally, it was an enemy UAV,” Bohdan Fliunt reported.

Bohdan Fliunt is an alumnus of the Taras Shevchenko National University’s Educational and Academic Institute of Journalism. Before enlisting, he had a business in advertising and marketing. Vitaliy Kostyshyn was an entrepreneur before joining the army as well, working in video production.
