Court arrested for two months Ukrainian citizen who worked in Russia as journalist

13.02.2015, 22:31

On February 12, in the central rayon court of the city of Mykolaiv, judge Dmytro Tyshko approved arrest, until April 11 of this year, of the citizen of Ukraine, journalist of the Russian media outlet "Nevskie Novosti", Andriy Zakharchuk, who is accused of high treason by the Security Service of Ukraine. According to the accused's parents, Zakharchuk, although he worked for a Russian newspaper, was not involved into anti-Ukrainian propaganda, and was only doing his job. The newspaper that he worked for, though, is notorious because its co-owner is Yevhen Zubarev, who is also an owner of "Federal News Agency", and is suspected of organizing paid pro-governmental Russian bloggers and comment writers.
