Council of Crimea composed "black list" of undesirable journalists

07.04.2014, 10:37

The Verkhovna Rada of Crimea (now the State Council of the Crimean Republic) composed a list of Crimean media outlets, whose journalists are not allowed to its sessions. This list of undesirable media outlets includes the «Center of Journalist Investigations», «Krym.Komentari», «Arhumenty Tyzhnia — Krym».

On March 26, the session of the State Council was held, and the head of the press service Liudmyla Mokhova invited journalists personally. But the correspondent of “Krym.Komentari” was not allowed in and moreover was threatened with police detention. In her turn, Liudmyla Mokhova informed that the previous accreditation was annulled due to renaming of the institution. She said that the new accreditation procedure was being developed. The first vice head of the State Council of the Crimean Republic Grygoriy Ioffe made a statement that the State Council of the Crimean Republic intended to fight those media outlets that receive funding and grants from abroad, thus, in fact, promising to «repress» the freedom of speech in Crimea.
