Commission for Journalism Ethics reports about attack against their website

21.11.2017, 11:17
Commission for Journalism Ethics reported that its website was under attack. This was reported via the Facebook account of the commission. “Attention! The website of the Commission for Journalism Ethics is under attack. The attack is against the provider's service, everything is very serious. It is also entirely possible that the attack is due to professional activities of the commission”, the message reads. Technical support is now trying to tackle the problem. The Commission considers a possibility that the attack was conducted “due to the recent criticism by the Commission for Journalism Ethics of the mass media in Crimea controlled by occupation authorities which discredit the Ukrainian mass media”. On November 13, the Commission published on their website the opinion of the Consulting commission on counteraction to propaganda in mass media, and recommendations of the Network of Organizations of Media Self-Regulation related to the publication of the information agency “Krym Inform” “Non-free realii. How much does it cost to sell the Motherland”. This article is about the activities of Radio Liberty on the territory of Crimea, it was published on the website of IA “Krym Inform” on June 21, 2017. The Commission's opinion states that the article is  propaganda, not journalism.
