Chairman of UA:PBC banned her subordinates to give comments to media

Acting chairman of the Board of Public Joint Stock "National Public Broadcasting Company of Ukraine" (NPBCU) Hanna Bychok has banned employees of the company to communicate with the media without her permission. This is stated in the order for workers of NPBCU on placing information in the media, on March 10, according to "Ukrainska Pravda".

"Journalists, officials and other employees of PJS" NPBCU" can publish or post any information (including interviews and/or comment) on the activities of PJS" NPBCU" only with the approval of acting chairman Hanna Bychok. The order doesn't restraint the acces to the information carried under the provisions of current legislation of Ukraine,"- said in the order.

There will be taken disciplinary actin against emplyees responsible for non-fulfilment the order.
IMI's lawyer Roman Holovenko explained that Bychok's order is not a censorship, yet it looks very inadequate and there is a need evaluate Bychok's proficiency as an acting head of NPBCU. He told to Suspilne movlenia outlet.
