Journalist Stanislav Aseyev (Vasin) is arrested, and a «criminal case» was started against him by the «General Prosecutor's Office of DPR», Detector Media reports.
This information was provided in the letter from the secretary of the Union of journalists of Russia, Timur Shafir to the head of the National Association of Journalists of Ukraine Serhiy Tomilenko.
Tymur Shafir said that after the last meeting on June 19-20 under the auspices of OSCE, where a joint statement was adopted on Aseyev, they used all means to clarify where he is.
Based on the information sent to Moscow by the so-called «Ministry of Foreign Affairs of DPR», Stanislav Aseyev is accused of "crimes stipulated in the Criminal Code of DPR", and the investigation is controlled by the «General Prosecutor's Office of DPR».
Journalist Stanislav Vasin (real last name Aseyev) was reported missing in the occupied Donetsk on June 6. Since then, many Ukrainian and international NGOs, including Reporters Without Borders, petitioned to release the journalist, yet the Donetsk militants never confirmed for Ukraine that he was detained. In particular, on July 19, the Ukrainian representative for humanitarian issues in the Minsk negotiations Iryna Herashchenko said that the militants cannot confirm information about imprisonment of journalist Stanislav Aseyev.
