1+1 reports they received threats to TSN team, and asks for police protection

06.10.2017, 02:17
TV channel “1+1” reports they received threats against the team of Television News Service (TSN), published in several pro-Russian media outlets, and requests the police and the Security Service of Ukraine to respond to the threats against the hosts and journalists of TSN. This was the statement released by the TV channel, UNIAN reports. Based on the information of the channel, the reason for the threats was TSN journalist investigation which started in 2015 and exposed “a whole kraken of covert Kremlin propaganda agents literally “under the wing” of the Ministry of Information Policy”. As the TV channel stated, with court sentence to the accused in the case last week, public threats against the staff of TSN became more frequent. The TV channel “1+1” considers them obstruction of journalist activities, and sees them as real threats to lives of TSN employees. As IMI reported before, on November 24, 2015, in Kyiv, SBU investigators started to investigate actions of people who were suspected of technical support of broadcasting separatist channel “Novorossiya TV” in the Internet. The suspects were part of the public council under the Ministry of Information Policy of Ukraine. On September 28, 2017, the Berdychiv court of Zhytomyrska oblast sentenced Kyiv resident Dmytro Vasylets and Berdychiv resident Yevhen Timonin to nine years of prison for supporting terrorist organization.
