Bulgarian TV channel apologized for map of Ukraine without Crimea

The Bulgarian TV channel «bTV» called showing on air of the map of Ukraine without Crimea a clerical error apologized for it. Krym.Realii learned about this on July 21 from the Ukrainian Embassy in Bulgaria. «On July 7, in the morning show of the TV channel «bTV» (is one of the top three highest-rating TV channels in Bulgaria) during the interview about the Bulgarian diaspora with the new head of the state agency in the issues of Bulgarians abroad Kharalampiyev, a map of Ukraine without Crimea was shown», the Embassy informs. On July 18, the agency received a letter from the TV channel’s management, which, among other things, said that «the channel’s staff used the materials of the state agency in the issues of Bulgarians abroad». Representatives of Ukraine have been repeatedly pointing out to foreign companies the errors in the Ukrainian map they were using. The previous incident was on June 13, when the Embassy of Ukraine in Kazakhstan voiced its protest to Astana over the exposition of the festival Astana Art Fest, in which one of the exhibits depicting the map Ukraine showed it without Crimea annexed by Russia. The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine officially proclaimed February 20, 2014, the day Russia occupied Crimea and Sevastopol. On October 7, 2015, the president of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko signed a corresponding Law. International organizations condemned the illegal occupation and annexation of Crimea. The Western countries introduced sanctions against Russia.
