YouTube has blocked the channel of the Poltava TV channel PTV UA twice, and the channel’s broadcasts on Facebook are deleted due to coverage of the full-scale russian invasion of Ukraine.
Yulia Kostenko, the editor-in-chief of PTV UA TV channels, reported it on her Facebook page on March 22.
“Hate speech: the main YouTube channel PTV UA has been blocked, broadcasts on Facebook are taken down. We stay on T2 in the region, our Telegram channel keeps working, visit our website and subscribe to all backup sources,” she said.
According to YouTube, the reason for the ban was hate speech, the editor told to the IMI representative in Poltava region. According to her, this happened for the second time.
The journalist added that their YouTube channel was currently available, but she thinks it could happen again.
Yulia Kostenko noted that they are being blocked due to russian bots’ strikes on some of their stories on YouTube.
“We receive warnings because of storiess about corpses, even though we blur them, music (putting our own over old videos or photos), shots of aggression and shelling / explosions (sounds). Also for speech: aggressive statements towards the occupants. We often present the horrors of the ruscists’ activities, and their bots flood us with hundreds of strikes and comments with statements like “surrender, lay down your arms, you will all die, putin will save you…” said Yulia Kostenko in her comment to the IMI representative in Poltava region.
