Kremenchutska Hazeta (based in Kremenchuk, Poltava oblast) has temporarily gone out of print, chief editor Oleh Bulashev reported to IMI’s regional representative Nadia Kucher.

According to him, the decision to halt the release of the newspaper’s print edition was influenced by the impact of Russia’s full-scale war against Ukraine.

“Objective circumstances played a role: the decline in the advertising market, team members getting drafted, the general situation caused by the war,” Oleh Bulashev said.

The last print issue of Kremenchutska Hazeta came out on 13 August. The chief editor said that the team planned to use the pause in printing to rethink their operations, look for new ideas, and prepare new stories.

In the meantime, the newspaper will continue to operate online.

As IMI has reported, on 28 September 2023 the newspaper Kremenchutskyi Telegraf, which had gone out of print at the start of the full-scale war, resumed its print edition. In February 2024, the print publication was permanently discontinued.
