Donbas Frontliner journalists Andriy Dubchak and Danylo Dubchak came under Russian cluster munition fire near Bakhmut, Donetsk region.

This is reported in Donbas Frontliner’s story.

“Approximately five cassette bombs went off right above us. We were in a field, next to a cemetery, and the shelling covered a very large area. Good thing that that we survived,” Andriy Dubchak said.

“The war is now more aggressive than it used to be. I already perceive the war as a part of my life, because we have had it since 2014,” said Danylo Dubchak.

The journalists continued their work nonetheless and made a story about how the city of Bakhmut lives under constant enemy fire.

Andriy Dubchak told IMI that they came under cluster bombardment on July 31.

Andriy received minor injuries due to the shelling – cuts on his legs from ricocheting fragments.

In addition, five windows of their car were broken, two tires were completely destroyed, and the car’s body had six holes in it.

Andrii does not rule out the possibility that they were being targeted deliberately, since their car was the only one parked near the field.

“Potentially, we could say yes (they were aiming deliberately – Ed.), the fire was being adjusted from an ‘Orlan,’ the artillery was working quite intensely. We were in blue bulletproof vests and we were alone there. Five cluster bombs exploded above us, and 20 minutes later they fired at the same spot. Our car could be seen, even though we tried to hide it under a tree,” the journalist said.

Dubchak added that earlier, namely on July 30, they had come under artillery fire.
