ZIK TV channel host received threats from «visa center»

25.07.2017, 23:08
The host of the program «Last Instance» on the TV channel ZIK Danylo Mokryk received a call on July 15 in the morning. A male voice threatened to "break his life". Mokryk identified the man as the representative of the "Visa Center Megapolis" Vitaliy Nosov, whom the program started to investigate. The journalist has software that automatically records all his calls on his phone, so the call was recorded. A day before, the «Last Instance»’ filming crew came to «Visa Center Megapolis» located in Kyiv at 21 Khreshchatyk street, office 48, to conduct their investigation. The program’s producer and host Danylo Mokryk was at the site too, because he was the victim this time. The Visa Center failed to deliver his biometric passport in timely manner. The team decided to investigate the whole network of so-called "visa centers". The man who worked there, and who later was identified as the caller with threatening messages, was there, but he locked himself in the office and refused to show up even after the journalists called police. Due to these events, the journalist filed an official complaint about fraud and abuse of trust (article 19, part 1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine). «Last Instance» prepares the investigation and searches for other victims of the activities of this and other «Visa centers» who promise expedient production of biometric passports. The host also plans to file additional complaint about the threats he received.
