Zhytomyr.Info photographer beaten by Berkut fighters until unconscious on Dec 1

In Kyiv, during the crackdown of the rally at Bankova Street on December 1, «Berkut» fighters beat the photographer of the Zhytomyr.info media outlet Mykhailo Zahorskiy. He told about this in his comment for IMI.

According to the photographer, he was photographing the clashes at Bankova Street. When “Berkut” started the assault he tried to escape, yet he was chased down and beaten with clubs so hard that he lost consciousness, and brutally kicked after that, in spite of presenting the press ID documents and loudly announcing that he represented the press.

  The doctors diagnosed brain concussion, bruising of the left kidney, and cutting of skin on his face. The photographer filed a complaint to the prosecutor’s office of Zhytomyr, and went through forensic examination. The case is being considered now.
