Yurchyshyn: Bill No. 11533 restricting access to registers was not put to vote
Bill No. 11533, which restricts access to state registers of real estate ownership licenses and the land cadastre, was not put to a vote in the Verkhovna Rada, Holos MP and chair of the Freedom of Speech Committee Yaroslav Yurchyshyn reported on Facebook.
“Another attempt to shut down access to the registers (instead of ensuring their protection) through Bill 11533 failed. The National Agency for Corruption Prevention (NACP) has time for to analyze it,” Yurchyshyn wrote.
In a comment to the Institute of Mass Information representative Valentyna Troyan, Yaroslav Yurchyshyn said that the meeting had been cancelled until the issue is reviewed.
“There are reports that the Committee on Legal Policy plans to resume the consideration of this bill. So the text may be subject to changes,” he specified.
As previously reported, passing the current version of Bill No. 11533, which restricts access to state registers of real estate ownership licenses and the land cadastre, will harm not only the public control sector (journalists, civil society and human rights organizations), but also ordinary users of the registers.
Bill No. 11533 was registered in the Verkhovna Rada on August 29, 2024. The bill was initiated by Servant of the People MPs Ihor Fris, Serhiy Demchenko, and Volodymyr Vatras.
