Yehor Vorobiov has been released from captivity
On October 7, the journalist of the TV channel «Espresso.TV» Yehor Vorobiov, who has been in the captivity of Russian military and DPR’s gunmen since the end of September, was exchanged, along with several other captive Ukrainians, for two DPR gunmen. This was reported to «Telekrytyka» by a military reporter, who was present at the exchange but expressed a wish to stay anonymous.
According to this source, the negotiations were successfully brokered by a volunteer, the head of the negotiations group of the Anti-terrorist center Yuriy Tandit.
For the context, on August 25, the Espresso.TV journalist Yehor Vorobiov and camera operator Taras Tchkan together with the journalist of «Road Control» Rostyslav Shaposhnikov got surrounded along with the Ukrainian military near the town of Ilovaysk (Donetska olbast). On August 28, they prepared another news story for «Espresso.TV» about the hostilities in the Anti-Terrorist Operation zone.
On September 1, Olena Solodovnikova, Vorobiov’s wife, on her Facebook page informed that Vorobiov was captured by the Russian military. Rostyslav Shaposhnikov and Taras Tchkan were released on August 31; they said that the Russians thought they were spotters for the Ukrainian army.
