Website "DePo" under heavy DDoS attack
On July 1, the informational online media outlet «DePo» underwent a heavy DDoS attack. According to the editor-in-chief of the publishing house «Kartel» Vadym Denysenko, the responsibility for the crime was claimed by the separatist organization «CyberBerkut».
These are Russian hackers, who tried to bring down both «DePo» and the website of the organization «Informational Resistance.» Denysenko believes this attack to be connected to their latest exposes about the separatists' self-proclaimed republics.
The attack brought down the outlet's data center, but its IT specialists managed to bring it back online in a couple of hours.
The media outlet's management filed a complaint with the police and the Security Service of Ukraine as the attack was conducted from abroad.
In the last month and a half, since the website was obtained by a different owner and underwent a re-branding it is the first attack of such scale. Earlier, another outlet - Espreso.tv, to which Vadym Denysenko is an editor-in-chief, was attacked several times.
