Vorobiov was tortured and sustained a broken leg and arm

11.10.2014, 00:21

The Espresso.TV journalist Yehor Vorobiov, who had been kept captive for 38 days by Russian gunmen in Makiyivka (Donetska oblast) and who was released on October 7, sustained tortures and a broken leg and arm. The information about his captivity and release is currently not being disclosed but the Espresso.TV TV channel’s founder MP Mykola Kniazhytsky wanted to use this case to warn other journalists going to the war zone about what they may expect if captured or abducted.

Yehor Vorobiov’s wife, Olena Solodovnikova, a journalist herself, confirmed this fact.

According to her, Yehor was tortured until the moment when he was offered to film news stories for the troop of Don Kazaks, the last group that held him captive. This was the condition they set on his release.
