Video of Channel 5 journalists assaulted by "Berkut" in downtown Kyiv published
On September 16, a video was published on Youtube documenting "Berkut" officers beating a Channel 5 filming crew – cameraman and journalists near the UN office in Kyiv. The video documents the events of February 2014; it was published by the journalist, who was beaten, Azad Safarov. The journalist comments that none of the officers, who were kicking him when he was lying on the ground, was arrested. The journalist says that all this time the video was kept by the investigators who did not conduct any actions with it, except kept it from public and refused to return to the journalists for a long time. Finally, Serhiy Klimenko, the cameraman, managed to get his video back. As a result of that cruel beating, Safarov sustained a broken arm and other injuries, and the filming crew’s camera was smashed.
