Veremiy murderer left court unpunished

26.12.2016, 16:24

Appeal Kyiv Court dismissed person of interest Yuri Krysin in case of Viacheslav Veremiy murder during the Revolution of Dignity in 2014. It is the third time Krysin released from custody. Interfax-Ukraine reports with reference to lawyer Yevheniya Zakrevska.

"So, today (December 23 - Ed.) The defendant in the case of attack on journalist Veremiy, Yuri Krysin released from the custody for the third time. Krysin was apprehended two times and once convicted for committing more" familiar" to him crimes, already. As he was released from the custody before," Zakrevska wrote on her Facebook page.

The lawyer doubted that the panel of judges consisting of Denis Masenko, Oleh Prysiazhniuk and Ihor Palenyk, aware of "risk of recurrence" concept. She also stressed that these judges "appear in every Maidan case." "In case, when two times, the risk is still 100%, no mater to advance measures. We simply have to terminate the criminal activity that is systematically continuing once the defendant appears at large," - she said.

The next sitting on Veremiya case will be held on Jan. 19, 2017, Zakrevska reported.

Vyacheslav Veremiy was cruelly beaten and murdered in the center of Kyiv, at crossing of Volodymyrska and Velyka Zhytomyrska streets, at night after February 18. The main suspect in the case, 40-year old man, was the head of a group of sportsmen working as “security guards”. He was detained on March 21, yet the court released him against guarantee of appearance with criminal responsibility for non-appearance.
