Unknown people broke email accounts of famous investigative journalist

15.01.2013, 12:41
Serhiy Leshchenko, investigative journalist of Ukrayinska Pravda Internet-edition, claims that his emails accounts were broken on January 14, 2013 by unknown people. He wrote this on his Facebook page.

“Today one of my mailboxes was hacked. Postal services identified an access to it from an IP that I’ve never used. However, the enemies were not so much interested in my mail as in access to my computer by means of infecting. The criminals proposed me to open a file, trying to convince me that the link contains compromising materials about Arbuzov [the National Bank head]"- the journalist wrote.

Leshchenko also noted that an unknown person had access to his email before he was asked to download the file. "He forged a letter from my friend. The letter was forged simultaneously with putting the friend’s email to the filters, so that I could not get a real letter from this friend. I am sure I did not put this email address in filters "- the journalist wrote.

On December 27, 2012, journalist Mustafa Nayem reported that unknown people broke his Gmail account.
