"Ukrainska pravda" closed down blog of "Hroshi" program host after his post about Nayem

09.06.2015, 23:51

The editorial board of the website “Ukrainska Pravda” closed down a blog of the editor and host of the investigation TV show “Hroshi” ("Money") of the “1+1” TV channel Oleksander Dubynskyi, accusing him of publishing “paid stories”.

The last post in Dubynskyi's blog was about the former "UP" journalist, Mustafa Nayem, who is now a member of the Parliament. In this blog post, Dubynskyi said that he saw Nayem in arestaurant drinking a wine that costs over 3,000 hryvnias for one bottle, together with the head of Odesa State Administration Mikhael Saakashvili - he expressed sarcastic doubt about how an honest MP could afford this wine with the official salary of less than 5,000 hryvnias. Nayem answered him in an ironic manner, saying he cares more about the conversation than about the price of drinks when he meets high officials in restaurants.

The public quarrel with Nayem was on the background of the discrediting campaign against Saakashvili, launched by the channel "1+1" owned by the Ukrainian billionaire Ihor Kolomoiskyi (the previous Odeska oblast governor before Saakashvili, Ihor Palytsia, is considered a man of Kolomoiskyi).
