10.06.2017, 00:27

The National Agency on Securing Quality of Higher Education approved the new higher education standard for the speciality “Cybersecurity”. This standard will be introduced since the 2017-18 academic year. This was made public on the website of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine.

This standard outlines what knowledge and skills will be taught to students taking this speciality.

This standard was developed by the subcommission of the sector of higher education of the Scientific and Methodological Council of the Ministry of Education and Science and has already been cleared by all relevant agencies.

“Currently, under the Russian aggression, we badly need cybersecurity specialists. Approval of this new standard will help us train highly skilled specialists ready to apply their knowledge in real life and meet the today’s challenges. A model curriculum will be developed for this speciality”, pointed out the vice-Minister of Education and Science Volodymyr Kovtunets. He added that cybersecurity specialists will be trained in close cooperation of the academia and employing companies.
