Ukrainian journalist was denied visa to receive international award she won

21.10.2015, 15:55

Ukrainian journalist Kateryna Sehatskova was not granted a visa to Great Britain, where she had to arrive to receive the international award she had won. Radio Liberty informs about this, quoting Ukraine Today.

Great Britain did not inform the reasons of visa denial, neither did the journalist.

On October 29, she was supposed to receive a prestigious Kurt Schork award, which she received in the category "Local Reporter" for "her stalwart determination and endless inquisitiveness in the middle of great dangers during the combat in the East of Ukraine". Kateryna Serhatskova is a native Russian, who received Ukrainian citizenship in April. She reported about the Russian invasion in Crimea and in the Easter Ukraine a lot, from both sides of the frontline.
