Ukraine marks Day of Radio, Television and Communications professionals
Today, Ukraine marks the Day of Radio, Television and Communications professionals, as Ukrinform reported.
This Day was established "…to support the initiative of radio, television and communications professionals of Ukraine" in accordance with the Presidential Decree "On the Day of Radio, Television and Communications professionals" of November 11, 1994.
The history of the holiday is traced back to November 16, 1924, when the first radio program in Ukraine was broadcast in Kharkiv. Since then, journalists and radio employees have started to celebrate the day as a professional holiday.
Today, they are joined by TV persons, representatives of the online media. This day is also celebrated by communication specialists who ensure the operation of telephone networks and Internet communication networks.
