At the same time, organizations of foreign broadcasting, those airing programs in one or several official EU languages along with the state language may also advertise in EU languages, as UNIAN reported.

All advertising on television, radio, and in print from January 16 should be in the Ukrainian language, according to a statement released on the website of the National Council of Ukraine on Television and Radio Broadcasting. On January 16, the norms of Article 32 of the law "On ensuring the functioning of the Ukrainian language as the state language" adopted by the Verkhovna Rada on April 25, 2019, come into force. "The article regulates the use of the official language in the field of advertising. From this date, all advertising on television, radio, and also in print media should be made only in Ukrainian," the statement said.

At the same time, organizations of foreign broadcasting, those airing programs in one or several official EU languages along with the state language may also advertise in the official EU languages. The same applies to print media publishing in one of the EU languages. Violations of new legislation entail a fine of 200 to 300 tax-free minimum incomes or a warning if committed for the first time.
