Ukraine banned another Russian channel

23.02.2017, 15:56

The National Council on Television and Radio Broadcasting removed  the Russian TV channel "Hunter and fisherman" from the list of foreign programs that are allowed in Ukraine
This decision was taken in the light of the program where the hero was a Russian officer Evgeniy Konopelkin. The press center of the National Council reports.

"On February 11 and 12 in the TV channel broadcast the program" Star on a hook" with the Hero of Russia, the Russian Military Intelligence (GRU) officer Colonel of the General Staff of the Russian Federation, Yevgeniy Mykolaiovych Konopelkin," - the statement says.
The TV show was about his service in special forces of GRU in Chechnya.

The National Council has concluded that this content promotes the authorities of the aggressor state, and decided to remove the channel from the list of foreign programs. The content of the programs in this list meets the requirements of the European Convention on Transfrontier Television and Ukrainian legislation.

The decision on "Hunter and fisherman" comes into force in one month after the disclosure, so providers have time to remove the channel from their networks.
