UDAR faction demands municipal newspaper to refute information

12.02.2013, 03:32
UDAR parliamentary faction [headed by Vitaliy Klitschko] demands that Khreschatyk daily refute false information about events in the Kyiv City Council on February 7. Oleksander Klyus, head of the UDAR faction in Kyiv City Council, claimed this to journalists on February 11.

"The Friday's issue of Khreschatyk municipal newspaper, on the first page, published a material "The Budget session foiled by opposition", in which representatives of the UDAR faction were accused of blocking and disrupting the Kyiv Council session, scuffles in the building of the council, and the absence at the session. The UDAR faction in the Kyiv City Council categorically denies this information,"- said the head of the faction.

Olexander Klyus said that on February 7, all 13 members of UDAR faction came in the session hall to take part in the plenary session of the city council, but they could not get inside because the doors to the session hall were closed.

"Moreover, council officials denied access to the plenary hall not only the Kiev City Council deputies, but also national deputies, but the municipal press modestly forgot to inform its readers about that" - said Olexander Klyus.

UDAR deputies demand to give them the right of reply, to put their answer on the first page of the newspaper, and to objectively report the activities of all factions in the Kyiv City Council.
