The Prosecutor General’s Office of Russia has declared two Ukrainian organisations, Ideas for Change and Truth Hounds, “undesirable,” reports Russia’s Mediazona, citing the authority’s website.
The Prosecutor General’s Office stated that Ideas for Change condemned the Russian invasion, had made calls not to recognise the annexation of the Donetsk and Luhansk oblasts, and advocated for increased arms supplies to Ukraine.
The state body alleged that Truth Hounds “creates and distributes fake content about crimes allegedly committed by the Russian troops.”
The media outlet notes that both organisations support economic sanctions against Russia and cooperate with European structures that the Kremlin added to the “undesirables” list earlier.
Both organizations were founded in Kyiv in 2014 and 2015.
The Public Initiatives Center “Ideas for Change” states that the organization was founded in November 2015 and began active work on projects in January 2017.
“The creation of the organisation was prompted by the need for a structure that would allow its participants to implement ideas and projects aimed at achieving socio-political change in Ukraine rooted in public policy, European values, and innovative and creative approaches,” reads the description on the NGO’s website.
The Truth Hounds website says that its mission is hunting for the truth, chasing perpetrators, and leading expertise.
The team says that they work to establish justice for those who are victimized during armed conflicts and to prevent the commission of international crimes.
“Since 2014, Truth Hounds have been documenting and investigating international crimes and other serious human rights violations committed during the armed conflicts in Ukraine and other regions of Eastern Europe, the Caucasus, and Central Asia,” the organisation stresses.
As IMI reported, in August 2025, the Russian Ministry of Justice added the international journalist watchdog Reporters Without Borders to the list of “undesirable” organisations.
