Two suspects of kidnapping and murder of journalist Serhiyenko placed under home arrest

On January 4, 2016, the prosecutor's office of Cherkassy regiont, following the results of the pre-trial investigation, approved and prosecuted an indictment against four residents of Kyiv in connection with the abduction and murder of journalist and public figure Vasyl Serhjynko. The suspected criminals were Maxim Rusin, Volodymyr Voronkov, Viktor Horbenko, Valentina Zavrazhina, Roman Nedibalyuk, and Vadim Melnyk. None of them admitted the charge during the trial. On November 20, 2018, the Sosnivsky District Court of Cherkasy changed the preventive measure to the defendant in the organization of the murder of journalist Vasily Sergienko Vadym Melnyk for a period of 60 days in custody.
