Two residents of Donetska oblast sued for anti-Ukrainian calls in social network

01.08.2017, 18:24
In Donetska oblast, for their anti-Ukrainian calls in the social network two men will spend five years behind bars. UNN was informed about this by the press service of the prosecutor’s office of Donetska oblast. The court of appeal of Donetska oblast found two residents of Sloviansky rayon guilty of committing a crime described in part 2 Article 110 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (“Offence against territorial integrity and inviolability of Ukraine”). It was proven that in the end of February of 2014 the two men born in 1993 and in 1994 created in the social network “VKontakte” several groups. With the goal of changing the state border of Ukraine and information support to the territorial organizations “DPR” and “LPR”, they were publishing in their groups materials of anti-Ukrainian nature. The perpetrators’ criminal activity was stopped in April of 2015 by the SBU officers. They were arrested at request of the prosecutor’s office. In court, the men pleaded not guilty but the law enforcement found enough evidence to prove their guilt. The men were sentenced for five years of imprisonment.
