Journalists Volodymyr Laptsevych and Oleksandr Burakov, detained on May 12 in Mogilev (Belarus), went on a hunger strike, as Naviny.by reported.

Volodymyr Labtsevych, a correspondent for the 6tv.by Mogilev Region online publication, and Oleksandr Burakov, a journalist for “Deutsche Welle”, were detained near the Mogilev Regional Court building, where they came to cover the trial of BKhD co-chair Pavel Severynets and “European Belarus” activists.

Journalists have been accused of violating the procedure of organizing and holding mass events, repeated within the year (Part 3 of Article 24.23 of the Administrative Code).

The date of the trial is unknown yet.
