TV program "Hroshi" complains about pressure of National Council member. The latter denies

24.02.2016, 23:39

The editorial team of the program “Hroshi” (Money) of the TV channel “1+1” claims that the executive secretary of the National Council for TV and radio broadcasting Kateryna Kotenko tried to interfere with the editorial policy in preparation of the story about the pharmaceutical industry, where her husband, Hlib Zahoriy (MP and a member of the President's parliamentary party), was mentioned. Anchor Oleksander Dubinskyi voiced this information in the program broadcast on February 23, TSN reports.

In the story it was mentioned that Hlib Zahoriy, owner of the pharmaceutical company "Darnytsia", had a lot of influence in the times of Yanukovich, and retained much of it now. Kotenko wrote a letter to the editorial team, calling the material "low-grade fake" and asking the journalist to not "step over the border between good and evil". The journalists see such a letter as an attempt to interfere with the editorial policy. Kotenko responded in her Facebook account, claiming the letter in question was her correspondence with the channel director, whom she has known for 15 years, and that the letter was a part of a long correspondence before it. Kotenko also hints that accusing her might be the channel's attempt to disrupt the inspection caused by the channel’s broadcasting of Russian movies glorifying KGB and other violations of the rules and laws imposed by the regulating body.
