TSN.ua website editor turned soldier Dmytro Bendikov killed in combat

TSN.ua website editor turned army officer Dmytro Bendikov was killed in action on March 18, 1+1 Media reports on Facebook.

The media outlet writes that Dmytro Bendikov joined 1+1 Media in June 2023. In July 2024, he enlisted in the Security and Defense Forces, served in the separate assault brigade No. 3, and died while performing a combat mission in the East of Ukraine.

“Our Dima came back on the shield. These are the hardest words I have to say. Dima was born in eastern Ukraine and died there. He was fighting to take back a piece of land where he was born, and he gave his life for this land. He is our friend, our colleague, our defender. He was smiling at all times, always knew what joke to tell and how to find words that made everyone smile and see the upside of things. We were all waiting for his return from the battlefield, and he would joke, 'Well, Trump promised to end the war in 24 hours, so just wait a bit more.' Dima is a bright person, a positive person, a person who would never abandon anyone,” says the TSN.ua director Svitlana Panyushkina.

She added that Dmytro never left the office until all the important news were posted on the website.

“His was the evening shift, but you could see him around at night, because he thought he needed to finish the work. Working with him was always easy and safe. He always kept everything under control, I'm sure it was the same on the battlefield. I always relied on him, I'm sure his comrades did too. We must remember everyone who gave their lives for us. And also not forget those whose relatives' lives lost its meaning,” Svitlana concluded.

She said that Dmytro Bendikov is survived by his mother.

According to the Institute of Mass Information, Dmytro Bendikov is the 102nd media professional to die as a result of Russia's full-scale aggression.
