Trial started over claim of journalist for “Schemes: corruption in details” Nataliya Sedletska

The district administrative court of Kyiv has begun hearing the case due to lawsuit filed by Natalia Sedletska, RFE/RL journalist, author and host of the program “Schemes: corruption in details”, against the head of administrative office of Pechersk district court in Kyiv due to denial to provide her with copy of court ruling on access to data on her telephone, as it is reported on the web-site of the courtinstance. The plaintiff entered a plea asking to acknowledge illegal the ruling of the court denying to provide her with copy of this document. The court settled to adjourn the hearing till March 28th. IMI informed that on August 27th, 2018 the Pechersk district court in Kyiv approved to give access to data from mobile service providers about calls and sms-messages of Natalia Sedletska. The prosecutor-general’s office said the information was part of a criminal investigation into the alleged disclosure of state secrets by Director of the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine Artem Sytnyk during a meeting with journalists last year. Sedletska, along with other journalists, is a witness in the case.
