There were 35 applications for the claims on violating right for access

Coalition of NGOs “For reduction of financial barriers in cases on access to public information”, during the contest of cases of refusal to provide public information received 35 applications, of them 22 applications were from civil activists. One application came from the Autonomous Republic of Crimea, which is now a Ukrainian territory occupied by Russia. 12 applications were from journalists of printed and online media outlets. From the total amount of incoming applications, 62.9% were sent by women, 37.1% - by men. 6 applications are already supported by the Coalition, they received legal support, and legal fees of the claimants were covered at the cost of the campaign funds. The next 6 cases will be selected next week. On December 11, during the Forum of access rights advocates, organized by the Center of Democracy and Supremacy of Law, civil activist and IMI representative Nadiya Babynska presented the work of the Coalition. She reported that the experts of the organizations that are part of the Coalition prepared draft changes to the legislation in effect concerning the court fees and executive process with vision of reducing the amount of fees. The drafted reduction is from 1600 to 640 hryvnias for legal entities and from 640 to 160 hryvnias for individuals.
