The only Crimean Tartar radio station "Meydan" can lose its frequency

27.02.2015, 22:06

The only Crimean Tartar radio station «Meydan» can lose its broadcasting frequency. As editor in chief of the radio "Meydan" Asan Khairetdinov told the information agency QHA, the radio station was not addmitted for the Russian Communication Supervision Agency’s tender, although for now the radio station is still using its frequency to work.

He thinks it is possible that the tender soon will be conducted for the radio frequency, even if it has not been done yet.

As the media outlet reports, on February 25 in Moscow, the Agency conducted a tender for the right to broadcast using specific radio frequencies in Crimea and Sevastopol. As a result, radio stations «Leader FM», «Trans-M-radio», TRC «Briz» and others lost their frequencies. Many Crimean radio stations were not even allowed to participate in the tender, their frequencies were sold to other broadcasters.
