The National Council rejected to extend license for "Radio Vesti" in Kharkiv
The National Council on Television and Radio Broadcasting denied to extend the broadcasting license of "Radio Vesti" (LLC "Teleradiovydavnycha company "Master") in Kharkiv, on February 23.
The National Council members voted for this decision at afternoon session, on February 23, the UKRINFORM correspondent reported.
According to the National Council decision, the management of radio resources and technical control must take into account this decision while preparing materials on the announcement of the competition for a getting a license to broadcast using the frequency 100.5 MHz in Kharkiv. It means that this frequency, owned by "Radio Vesti", is free.
"The law provides that we must turn to the BRT Concern regarding the disconnection rate within 3 days after the relevant decision," - the Deputy Chairman of the National Council Uliana Feshchuk specified.
Feschuk noted that there are two reasons for refusal, warnings which are not canceled by the court - a change of the program concept and failure to comply with Ukrainian language broadcast quotas.
As for the LLC "TRC"Dyvosvit "(Kyiv,"Radio Vesti") statement on the renewal of the broadcasting license, it is decided to postpone its consideration until February 24.
