Texty.org.ua‘s BlueSky account has been suspended following a wave of aggressive comments by users who support the policies of Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán, Texty reported on their website on 23 March.

The team said that they had been using BlueSky as a platform to share their content with the Western audience instead of Elon Musk’s X for over a year. However, a week ago, their account was suspended without prior warning.

The page had over 4,000 subscribers, including international journalists, scholars, and activists. The team pointed out that the suspension followed a wave of aggressive pro-Orbán comments.

A few days earlier, Texty made a series of posts based on their investigation “Hungarian Propaganda Against Ukraine: The Orbán Regime’s Messages”. The news outlet noticed an uptick in comments defending the Hungarian Prime Minister and the “great Hungarian people” shortly after.

“We have not received the exact reasons for the suspension from the social media platform. The Texty.org.ua team is currently working to restore the account,” the team said.

The news outlet asked their readers to support them and share their X account in English.

Texty.org.ua reported being targeted in a smear campaign consisting of manipulation and slander on X, supported by the social media platform’s owner Elon Musk and Russian propagandist Anatoliy Shariy on 4 March 2025.

Earlier, Texty.org.ua won the international data journalism contest Sigma Awards.
