Television and Internet as main source of political news for Ukrainians - research

Ukrainians get the vast majority of political information from the television news, according to the results of a research made by the Sociological group "Rating", as Ukrinform reported. Thus, 73% of respondents told that the main source of political information are the television news. 50% of respondents get information from internet websites, 33% did from social networks, 18% did from their families. Radio news and newspapers are source of political news for 15-14% respondents respectively.

The survey was conducted throughout Ukraine (except for the occupied territories of Crimea and Donbass) from June 13 to 23, 2019. A total of 2,400 Ukrainians aged 18 and older who were eligible to vote were interviewed. The sample is representative by gender, age, region and settlement size. The margin of error does not exceed 2.0%. Average response rate was 61.8%. The survey was conducted by the Sociological Group "Rating" on request of the International Republican Institute (IRI).
