Tablet of NBN journalist got stolen on session of committee with participation of law enforcers. Police failed to act

14.12.2014, 23:16

On December 10, in Kyiv an unidentified criminal stole a tablet of Hanna Pysarenko, the journalist of the news website NBN (Independent News Bureau) on the joint session of the Committee on legislation on law enforcement and the Committee on Combating Corruption. This was reported by NBN editor-in-chief Tetiana Vysotska on her Facebook account.

The incident took place in the building of the Verkhovna Rada Committees.

According to Vysotska, the tablet was charging when the journalist was on the phone dictating the news to the editorial office. A man in a black coat came over and took the tablet and the charger. He looked so calm nobody suspected anything.

Vysotska pointed out that to enter the building one has to provide a pass and has to be in the admission list for the day, so this man must be working there or in one of the enforcement Ministries.

After the meeting the NBN journalist informed the Minister of Internal Affairs, Arsen Avakov, who was among the participants, about the incident, to which he said that even among MPs there are dishonest people. When the journalist told him the police failed to arrive and asked him when it was supposed to arrive according to the legislation he just brushed her off and left.
