"Svidok.info" suspends operations: chief editor joins the army
The Mykolaiv online publication "Svidok.info" is suspending active operation because the chief editor, Andriy Prokopenko, has been drafted into the Ukrainian Armed Forces and there are no journalists left working for the website.
The media worker told the IMI representative in Mykolaiv oblast about this.
According to him, he decided to enlist because he did not see the point in working in the civilian media space. Andriy Prokopenko will serve as a marine; his training will start in the near future.
"Svidok.info" will be supported by its co-founder, but no journalists remain there.
"There are no journalists who will stay on the website. I have a partner and co-founder who will monitor the site and do the minimum maintenance. That is, essentially the archive will be maintained with some minimal effort. Maybe it will be able to resume more active operations later," Andriy Prokopenko said.
The news agency Svidok.info was founded in 2016. Andriy Prokopenko is one of the founders and the chief editor of the outlet.
