09.03.2016, 17:15

On March 8, the filming crew of the Ukrainian TV channel STB that was covering the trial against Nadiya Savchenko, was detained by Russian police and transported to the police station of Gorshchenskiy rayon, Kurskaya oblast (headed by Sergey Logunov).

Anton Naumliuk reported the details on Twitter and Facebook. «They took away the documents of the STB filming crew, and are not saying where these documents are now. They try to interrogate us separately, and wrote a protocol for search of our car», he wrote.

Later, the journalist published explanation of the police about the reasons of detaining the journalists. The police officers claimed that the number plate of the journalists' car was similar to someone's plate number on the wanted  list.

Later, the police officers apologized and released the filming crew that arrived to Russia to cover the trial against Ukrainian pilot Nadiya Savchenko.

This was the fourth incident of the STB filming crew on the territory of Russia in the last six months involving detention by Russian law enforcement agencies.
