Spokesperson of Council of Europe qualified as inadmissible incident involving Russian and Ukrainian journalists

01.02.2019, 10:42
The Director of communications in the Council of Europe Daniel Holtgen considered the incident between Ukrainian and Russian journalists was inadmissible at the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe, as to Ukrinform. “This is inadmissible and unprecedented situation. Nothing of the kind happened . All the journalists had been informed of accreditation rules and behavior within the walls of the Council of Europe” Holtgen told, and added that was an official position of the Council of Europe, not only his personal point of view. IMI had informed earlier, the TV anchorwoman Olga Skabeeva was repeatedly interrupting the first vice- speaker of the Verkhovna Rada Iryna Herashchenko, at the press briefing with Ukrainian journalists. This attitude of Russian journalist provoked indignation among the Ukrainian journalists attending the meeting. Then Serhiy Sydorenko pushed Skabeeva off saying “Don’t interrupt, let us work!”
