"Skhid-SOS" sues Ministry of Social Policy for refusal to share information
Lawyers of the civil initiative for helping the residents of Eastern Ukraine and Crimea “Skhid-SOS” are suing the Ministry of social policy for denying access to information for internally displaced people (IDPs), QHA reports.
The issue in question relates to personal information of IDPs' bank accounts and related personal data that is supposed to be handled only by the state-owned bank "Oshchadbank" (other Ukrainian citizens may choose the bank they use for receiving a pension). When Skhid-SOS requested how exactly the government and the state-owned bank intend to handle and protect this information, the Ministry refused to respond, and refused to give a copy of a standard contract between the bank and IDP, claiming it to be "confidential". The first court session of District Administrative court of Kyiv on the claim of the Charity Foundation "Skhid-SOS" took place on November 17.
