In Rozivskyi rayon, Zaporizka oblast, which is bordering with Donetsk region, Ukrainian channels are not available for the audience due to technical reasons. According to the local Security Service of Ukraine office (as reported by "Radio Svoboda"), because the most powerful signal in the area comes from Donetsk TV tower (which was installed comparatively recently, and for this reason the most modern in the area), all Ukrainian channels are being jammed by Donetsk TV tower that broadcasts 12 Russian channels. SBU says this is a technical issue - what they need is a modern rebroadcasting transmitter. There are also plans to install digital TV network in the areas close to warzone to negate the propaganda tower broadcasts.
According to the Minister of Information Policy Yuriy Stets, Donetsk broadcasting tower cannot be taken out, because many hostages, including prisoners of war and women, are being kept there.
