Several TV channels in Odesa cease broadcasting due to the war

12.05.2022, 14:27

In Odesa, the TV channels belonging to local media manager Oleksandr Kozyr ceased broadcasting. This information was confirmed to Detector Media by the channel owner himself.

He owns GNews and TV-1 (legal entity "TRC Misky Kanal" LLC). His media group also includes A1, GTv, and City TV channels which are being broadcast in Odesa and Odesa region. Oleksandr Kozyr is also a beneficiary of the "Press and Television College" LLC.

According to Kozyr, the broadcast was stopped due to the war. "We were holding on for as long as we could. We are out of strength. Some employees have left, we lost our key advertisers. I hope we return to the air as soon as possible. At the moment, all the work is suspended," he said.

The company's regulator has been informed about the suspension of broadcasting.

It will be recalled that the National Council on Television and Radio Broadcasting allowed broadcasters to temporarily deviate from program concepts. The regulator called for this to be done if it is impossible to implement the software concept defined by the license or other license conditions. Also, after the russian offensive began, the National Council allowed some regional broadcasters to appear on T2 in order to increase public awareness.
